Villa Susanne

Villa Susanne is a newly built house for 6 persons (+ baby) with a private pool and large pool house, located just outside the village of Cazals in the Lot. The villa stands on its own grounds and has all you need for a perfect holiday. Susanne has 3 large bedrooms, the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a balcony with a view over the hills.

Inside

Large living room with open kitchen and dining area, patio doors overlooking the pool.

1st floor

Bedroom 1: with a double bed and a door to the terrace so you can start the day with a delicious cup of coffee and enjoy the beautiful view (you can even keep an eye on your children from the balcony). This bedroom has an en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: with double bed.
Bedroom 3: with twin beds. Cot available. Separate bathroom with bath,shower, sink and toilet.

Outside

The pool with terrace is situated in the front of the house, offers beautiful views and is South West oriented. The private pool is 10x5m with a shallow area with staircase. There is a large pool house to cool off or to relax in the shade. The pool house is equipped with electric lights, so you can eat outside on warm evenings. Beside the pool is a large lawn that can be used as a playing field (there is a jeu de boule area). Carport at the rear of the house, leaving your car in the shade. Very safe for children as the garden is fenced.

Surroundings

Cazals has two bakeries, a butcher and a small supermarket. There are cafés and restaurants and the food is very good and not expensive! There is a market every Sunday with fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, wine, etc. In the immediate vicinity are numerous lively markets and especially in the summer months there are also local farmers' markets scattered. The area has many wonderful places to have lunch or dinner and taste wines. On the outskirts of the village you can play tennis and there is a lake where you can rent paddle boats.

Activities

There are nice beaches at the river Dordogne (at 25km) and Lot (also 25km). Walking, cycling, horse riding, tennis, swimming. All within an hour distance.

It has indeed been 2 weeks since we spent a week in the house Susanne in Cazals. As far as the directions are concerned, I can say that both with GPS but also according to your written explanation, it was absolutely no problem to find the house. The description of the house was really as it is. Clearly described and very functionally furnished. However, we never (had to) use the salon as we had good weather. The pool house was therefore a pleasant place to sit and have some shade.
The terrace was also a pleasant place to stay in the evening. Too bad there was no (or not working) light in the pool so it would have been really romantic in the evening.
The area was beautiful and many beautiful villages encountered. Your house is definitely recommended and will also say that to friends and acquaintances.

I definitely plan to continue looking in France through FranceVilla.

My husband and I have enjoyed a lovely, restful couple of weeks in Villa Susanne. The Villa was extremely comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need for self-catering. The weather was mostly very kind to us and we enjoyed some beautiful sunsets as we sat outside enjoying the evenings with a meal and of course several bottles of the lovely regional wine! A great trip, we would certainly recommend if you are looking for an “away from it all” holiday.

What a wonderful holiday we had in Villa Susanne! Super comfortable and spacious house with a great pool and pool house! We have made a lot of use of this because of the warm weather. We could always find a place in the shade with the nice sunbeds. The pool was cleaned weekly by a nice English speaking man. We also used the boules court that belongs to the house a few times, even the balls are available!
We have made trips to some picturesque pictures in the beautiful surroundings: Saint Cirq La Popie, La Roque-Gageac, Domme, Castelnaud la Chapelle, Beynac and Sarlat are all worth a visit, some of these towns are very close together and you can combine a visit well!
We did our shopping at Lidl and Carrefour in Gourdon, about 20 minutes' drive away, but there is also a supermarket (Casino) in nearby Cazals.
In short, this house is highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Susanne very much. It was a great space for the 4 of us and the house and pool were very clean on arrival. We loved the nearby village of Cazal which had a great Auberge, boulangerie and boucherie. The description and photos of the property are very accurate.
